Target: To apply the available technologies to optimize follow-up and metabolic control of people suffering from diabetes.

Description: Use of the Information and Communication Technologies in the field of diabetes (patients’ monitoring, mobile applications, decision support, closed-loop algorithms for the artificial pancreas, modelling, glucose prediction, physical activity detection).

Techniques:

Artificial pancreas: Definition of closed-loop algorithms.

Telemedicine for patients follow-up: Development of telemedicine platforms and mobile personal assistants.

Personalized decision support tools, models of glucose prediction, algorithms for physical activity and diabetes: artificial intelligence algorithms.

Modelling of the endocrine pancreas and interaction with innate immune system in type 1 diabetes.

Programming languages: Java, Struts, JSP/servlets, Java for Android, Objective C, Matlab.

Infrastructure: Diabetes simulators, monitoring sensors, Smartphones and tablets.
